Date: Tuesday July 22
Stuffed Animal Check-In Time: 6:30 pm
Storytime Begins: 7:00 pm

*Retrieve your stuffed animal the next evening at the outdoor concert (see details below), or anytime during regular ACL hours.

Just Added! Interactive Hands-On Composting Workshop
Thursday, July 29th at 7:30 pm
Have you wondered if composting is for you?  Have you tried composting, but aren’t seeing the results you wanted? Would you and your family like to learn more about composting in a fun, interactive workshop?  Dirty Boys Composting, a company started by two Newton high school students, Grant Berman and Max MacKenzie, will teach your family about the benefits, science, and art of composting as they share their experiences setting up and maintaining backyard compost piles throughout the city.  Create working, table top composting containers to take home, while learning how to take the guesswork out of composting.  Auburndale Community Library, July 29th at 7:30 pm.  For more information about Dirty Boys Composting:  http://www.dirtyboyscomposting.com.

Bumper Crop of Hot Reads Have Landed…
The ACL…your library for all seasons.  In anticipation of summer vacations and getaways, Janet Linder and Ellen Chu from the circulation department just cataloged a HUGE batch of hot reads for us.  They were flying off the shelves as fast as we were loading them earlier today.  Be sure to swing through for a title or two in the next couple of weeks!

Download a Map & Guide for Newton Open Studios from the website or pick one up at the Newton Free Library. Use the feature-packed website to search for art in 20 categories.

One of my favorite coffee/tea/lunch places (L’Aroma Cafe) is one of the locations. Try the mocha (melted chocolate – no syrup) or one of their wonderful teas. Great selection of baked goods, too (including an entire shelf of gluten-free options).
