Framingham Food Truck Festival
Because I am fun like that and I like to eat and I love food trucks! So, I get to help judge the Hood ® Cream “Cream of the Crop” Cooking Competition! Not by myself, goodness, that would be silly. MAGIC 106.7 FM’s Candy O’Terry and Chef Chris Coombs, chef/owner of Boston-area award-winning restaurants Boston Chops, dbar and Deuxave are the celebs in the house – actually on the field – Bowditch Field (475 Union Ave, Framingham). HP Hood, the leading dairy brand in New England, recently announced the Hood® Cream “Cream of the Crop” cooking competition featuring spokesperson Chef Chris Coombs, chef/owner of Boston-area award-winning restaurants Boston Chops, dbar and Deuxave.
The competition takes place at the “Hood Cream Presents the Framingham Food Truck Festival” this Saturday, September 20, 2014, and at the “Hood Cream Presents the Newport Food Truck Festival” on October, 25, 2014. Participating food trucks will submit their best recipe featuring Hood Cream and a panel of esteemed judges, including Chef Chris Coombs, will choose one winner at each festival to receive a cash prize. The winning truck will be announced during each festival and will receive a $1,000 cash prize and a year’s worth of Hood Cream, along with the title as Hood Cream’s “Cream of the Crop” champion. In addition to the competition, Chef Coombs will be conducting meet and greets, answering questions, providing cooking tips and leading short cooking demonstrations alongside MAGIC 106.7 FM’s Candy O’Terry at the Framingham festival. Hood Cream will feature a fun and interactive booth including complimentary coffee with Hood Cream, photo booth, prize wheel and giveaways.
Fans are invited to join in on the fun by sharing their favorite recipes featuring Hood Cream on Twitter to @HPHood using the hashtags #AlwaysHoodCreamSweeps, #FTFNE, #FramFTF. On Saturday September 20th, the MetroWest Visitors Bureau is hosting MetroFest 2014 presented by Middlesex Savings Bank, the first regional, collaborative festival to showcase the richness and diversity of the region’s music, arts and culinary offerings. The event offers a wide range of activities anticipated to attract more than 8,000 visitors of all ages. This first-ever cultural festival will feature 25 food trucks from Food Truck Festivals of New England, main stage music and entertainment, 100 artist and craft vendors, designated children’s activity areas, and a community stage highlighting the diversity offered throughout the 19 municipalities that compose MetroWest.
Priced affordably so all can attend, MetroFest introduces the region’s residents to the local culture abundant in their own backyards. Admission fees are only $5 for guests ages 13 and up, and only $2 for children ages 5-12. There is no charge for children ages 4 and under, and all will enjoy free access to bounce houses, face painters, magicians and entertainment.
