Mayor Warren has kicked off the Newton Community Collection for Cradles to Crayons at City Hall.

This month, give back as a family, and clean out closets in support of the Cradles to Crayons Gear Up for Winter program. At this time of year, Cradles to Crayons receives hundreds of requests each week for essential items like clothing, shoes and boots, hats and gloves, and coats. Help us reach our Newton Collection goal of providing warm winter essentials to 500 children who would otherwise be forced to go without. When cleaning out your closets, please keep in mind the children we serve may be living in situations without the capacity for large items, so please no furniture, large toys, stuffed animals or bikes.

The Community Collection unit is located in the Newton City Hall parking lot across from the Public Library on Homer Street (look for the purple Cradles to Crayons banners). To make it as convenient as possible, the collection unit is accessible to the public 24 hours a day from November 2 – 17th. Please help us spread the word and increase the impact of our efforts by sharing this email with your friends, family members, and neighbors.
