I like to cook and with air conditioning (thankfully) on, I will cook on a hot day like this but prefer stove top to oven and grill to stove top cooking. My easy dinner (read minimal cooking) meals take advantage of local fresh ingredients. Every Tuesday I hit the Farmer’s Market in Newton. This week we had turkey burgers (from Bob’s Turkey Farm), grilled corn on the cob and gorgeous greens (from Nicewicz Farm) and chocolate crinkle cookies from Harriett’s Bakery (yummy and gluten free). Easy, quick and didn’t heat up the house.

Then, tonight, my youngest made pesto with whole wheat pasta and breaded tofu. It is a light supper that you can serve hot or cold. Delicious!
