Go to the Greenway to Kick-off Boston Local Food Festival!
Sustainable Business Network of Massachusetts and Mayor Thomas M. Menino proudly invite you join us today for the Kick-off of the 3rd annual Boston Local Food Festival from 2:30 pm – 4:00 pm on The Rose Kennedy Greenway (near the Rings Fountain and corner of Milk Street and Atlantic Avenue, Boston). The Kick-off event will include comments from SBN, Mayor Menino, and vendors and offer free tastings for one hour to the public as a way to introduce the types of food and activities to expect at the festival in the fall. The program will kick off at 2:30 pm and the tastings will take place until 4:00 pm.
City Fresh Foods, Inc. in partnership with City Growers will bring the food they grow in Boston’s urban plots and prepare for area residents and institutions. batch® Ice cream will offer tastings of their ice cream made in Jamaica Plain using local and fair trade ingredients. Equal Exchange will showcase their sustainably sourced, fair trade products such as coffee and chocolate sold at their Café and mobile food cart in Boston. Wholesale local produce supplier Katsiroubas Brothers Produce will offer samples of fresh-spun maple cotton candy using local maple syrup from Ben’s Sugar Shack. Boston Organics will showcase the organic produce and added value products they deliver to Greater Boston residents.
